Emergency tree services

When a tree becomes a danger, every hour counts.

Storms, high winds and heavy snow can turn a healthy tree into an immediate risk. Branches snap without warning. Entire trunks split and fall across driveways, gardens, roofs and roads. When that happens, you need a tree surgeon who answers the phone and can get to you quickly.

Staleys Tree Solutions provides emergency tree work across Stirling, Falkirk, Dunblane, Bridge of Allan, Alloa, Callander and the wider Central Scotland area. We are available 7 days a week, including evenings, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance on every job.

When to call for emergency tree work

Not every tree problem is an emergency. But some situations cannot wait for a scheduled appointment. Call us straight away if you are dealing with any of the following:

  • A tree has fallen onto a building, vehicle, fence, wall or garden structure.
  • Large branches are hanging overhead and could drop at any moment, threatening people or property below.
  • Storm damage has left a tree leaning against a house, garage, shed or neighbouring structure.
  • A tree or branch is blocking a road, driveway or access route, preventing vehicles or pedestrians from passing safely.
  • Root plate failure has caused the entire tree to lift, leaving the root system exposed and the trunk unstable.

If the tree is near power lines, call your electricity network operator first. We can attend once the lines have been made safe by the utility company. For all other tree emergencies, call 07599 00 88 09 and we will respond as quickly as possible.

How we respond to emergency callouts

When you call, we gather the key details: where you are, what has happened and whether anyone is at risk. We assess the urgency and prioritise the most dangerous situations first.

On arrival, the first priority is always to make the site safe. That means securing any immediate hazards, cordoning off the area if needed and preventing further damage. Once the danger is contained, we plan and carry out the full removal or remedial work.

Our approach follows a clear sequence:

  1. Call received. You speak directly to us, not a call centre. We take the details and give you an honest assessment over the phone.
  2. Urgency assessed. Life-threatening and access-blocking situations take priority. We attend as quickly as conditions and distance allow.
  3. Make safe first. The immediate danger is dealt with before anything else. Hanging branches are brought down, fallen trunks are cut clear, and unstable trees are secured.
  4. Full removal or repair. Once the site is safe, we complete the job properly: felling, sectional dismantling, clearing debris and leaving the area tidy.

Types of emergency tree situations

We deal with all types of tree emergencies on both domestic and commercial properties. The most common situations we attend include:

  • Wind and storm damage. High winds across Central Scotland regularly bring down branches and whole trees. We clear fallen timber, remove hanging limbs and assess any remaining trees for ongoing risk.
  • Hung-up trees. When a tree falls but catches in a neighbouring tree, it creates a serious hazard. The weight can shift without warning. These must be dealt with by an experienced climber or dismantled from the ground using specialist equipment.
  • Trees threatening structures. A leaning tree pressing against a building, wall or fence can cause structural damage and is a safety risk until removed. We attend and make the site safe before any further movement occurs.
  • Subsidence risk. When root plate failure or waterlogged ground causes a tree to tilt, the root system can lift paving, paths and foundations. Quick removal prevents further ground damage.
  • Trees near power lines. If a tree has fallen onto or near overhead power lines, do not approach it. Contact your network operator first. Once the lines are made safe, we can attend to fell and clear the tree.

Insurance and documentation

Staleys Tree Solutions Ltd carries £5 million public liability insurance. If you need documentation for your own insurance claim following storm damage or a fallen tree, we can provide written reports and photographic records of the work carried out. Many home and commercial insurance policies cover emergency tree removal, and having professional documentation makes the claims process straightforward.

If the tree that needs removing is not an emergency and you have time to plan the work, our tree felling service covers scheduled removals with a free site survey and written quote.

Frequently asked

Common questions about emergency tree work.

We answer emergency calls 7 days a week, including evenings. Response times depend on your location and the volume of calls we are handling, but we always prioritise the most dangerous situations first. If a tree has fallen onto a building, is blocking a road or poses an immediate risk to people, we will attend as quickly as conditions allow. Call 07599 00 88 09 and we will give you an honest timeframe.
A tree emergency is any situation where a tree or branch poses an immediate risk to people, property or access. This includes fallen trees blocking roads or driveways, large branches hanging overhead, trees leaning against buildings, root plate failure and storm damage that has left a tree unstable. If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, call us and we will advise you.
We attend emergency callouts in all weather conditions when it is safe to do so. In severe storms with active high winds, there are situations where it is too dangerous for our team to climb or operate equipment. In those cases, we will make the area as safe as possible and return to complete the work as soon as conditions allow. Safety comes first for our crew and for you.
In most cases, the property owner is responsible for trees on their land. However, many home insurance and commercial property insurance policies include cover for storm damage and emergency tree removal. We can provide written reports and photographic documentation of the work to support your insurance claim. Check your policy wording or speak to your insurer before the work begins if you would like to confirm cover.
Yes. We provide detailed written records of the emergency, including photographs of the damage, a description of the work carried out and an itemised invoice. This documentation is designed to give your insurance company everything they need to process your claim. We deal with insurance-related tree work regularly and can advise on what information your insurer is likely to need.
